Chamonix x Julbo

My first trip to the Alps was in May 2016, on assignment for IndefinitelyWild, to learn about and report on Julbo, French maker of mountain performance sunglasses—and the originator of glacier glasses. Over the course of a week, we toured Julbo’s HQ and factory in Jura, where we also product tested on the world cup enduro mountain bike course. We concluded our time with a trip to Chamonix—the birthplace of Alpinism.

Highlights included my first (of many) climbs on the Arête des Cosmiques, getting to ride road bikes with Glen Plake (the father of steep skiing,) and meeting Jeff Banks (IFMGA Mountain Guide) for the first time. Oh, and celebrating my birthday in the Alps was pretty cool, too!

The day that I left, I vowed to return. ASAP.
